Ncell reduces GPRS tariff by 70 percent

Ncell, as a part of its promotional plan after re-branding, has launched an entertainment-based mobile content portal and reduced the tariff of its GPRS service by 70 percent on the occasion of the New Year.

All Ncell subscribers will be able to browse the rich contents of the internet via GPRS at 6 paisa compared to the previous rate of 20 paisa per kilobyte. Ncell is also the first mobile operator in the country to offer this kind of WAP portal service to its subscribers with wallpapers, themes, animations, games, ring tones, videos and daily horoscope.

“This is just the first step toward offering new services,” said Mansur Khamidov, chief commercial officer of Ncell addressing a press conference. “We give top priority to customer experience; so just wait, we will be coming up with more services and technologies.”

The WAP portal or mobile content portal can be accessed via Ncell WAP www.n cell.com.np and www.music andfun.ncell.com.np from any mobile set supporting GPRS. The download costs ranges between Rs. 5 to Rs. 50 depending on the size of the content.
