Laxmi Intercontinental, the sole authorised dealer of Hyundai four-wheelers in Nepal, has launched the Next Gen i10 car in the market.The car was jointly unveiled by Ganesh Bahadur Shrestha, chairman, Laxmi Group and Jems Kim, director, export division, Hyundai, India amid a program on Monday.

After the grand success of the i10 and the i20, the company has rolled out this small car from Hyundai’s stable. The new automobile comes with a choice of two petrol engines, the 1.1 iRDE2 and the 1.2 Kappa2 variable valve timing (VTVT) engine.

While the 1.1 litre iRDE2 engine delivers a maximum power of 69 ps at 5,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 10.1 kpm at 4,500 rpm, the 1.2 litre Kappa2 VTVT engine delivers a maximum power of 80 ps at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 11.4 kpm at 4,000 rpm.

“Both these engines are Bharat Stage IV compliant and designed to deliver improved engine efficiency, optimised fuel consumption, low emission and class leading performance,” said the company’s press statement.

Besides the new engine, the Next Gen i10 comes with fresh headlights, taillights and blinkers on the outside rear view mirrors. The door handles and castings are of the same colour as the body.

Bumpers have been redesigned with a new fangled front frame and adjustable head rests. For music lovers, there’s a music control system on the wheel as well as cabin and AUX and USB ports. Apart from this, the Next Gen i10 brings in a host of highly innovative design features like first-in-the-segment gear shift indicator display (M/T only), digital fuel indicator and multiple power outlets. The Next Gen i10 is equipped with a five-speed manual transmission and offers the option of a four-speed automatic gearbox. It has front ventilated disc and rear drum brakes. The car’s fuel tank has a capacity of 35 litres.

As for safety measures, the car is equipped with an antilock braking system (ABS), reverse parking sensor and dual airbags, keyless entry with burglar alarm and engine immobiliser to ensure protection from theft.

The Next Gen i10 is available in crystal white, sleek silver, ice silver, champagne gold, electric red, blushing red, carbon grey and thunder black colours.

Likewise, the car features outside mirror turn indicators, modern and stylish interiors and exteriors, electric sunroof (optional), foldable key, height adjustable driver’s seat, electrically adjustable outside rear view mirror and a deluxe floor console with power outlet.

The company claims that the 1.1 iRDE2 Next Gen i10 gives a mileage of 19.81 km per litre and the 1.2 Kappa2 VTVT gives a mileage of 20.36 km per litre. The Next Gen i10 is claimed to be the most fuel-efficient petrol car in its segment.(Source:ekantipur)
