Pinki International, authorised distributor of Seiko watches in Nepal, opened its second showroom in Durbar Marg, Kathmandu, on Friday. Spread over 600 sqft, the showroom provides a wide range of wrist watches, table and wall clock from the Japanese watchmaker.

Ramesh Maharjan, store manager, said they expanded their showroom as per the growing demand. “The wristwatch trend is gradually increasing in Nepal,” he said. “As people’s disposable income rises, they tend to purchase expensive timepieces,” he said, adding the new showroom also provides after-sales service.

The company offers Seiko Sportura, Premier, Arctura and Presage models under the high-end category, while it offers Seiko 5 and Seiko 5 Sports in the low-end segment.

Seiko Sportura, the premium model, comes in rubber, steel and genuine leather chain options. Time movement of this watch is controlled by quartz technology. Other features include 100m water resistant and screw down lock scratch resistant crystal glass, among others. The wristwatches are priced between Rs 12,000 and Rs 75,000, while wall and tables clocks come in the range of Rs 2,600 to Rs 26,000.

The company offers a one-year warranty on all the products. Maharjan said the company will soon launch new models in the Prospex series—professional sports watches.
