Heating up competition in the commuter segment, Hansraj Hulaschand and Company has launched the new Bajaj Discover 125 motorcycle. The new motorcycle from Indian two-wheeler major Bajaj is expected to give a tough competition to Honda’s Shine and Hero MotoCorp’s Glamour.
The new Discover 125 comes with a perfect combination of aggression (power) and sensibility (mileage). Hansraj Hulaschand Executive Director Shekhar Golchha said the new bike offers both affordability and mileage. “These two features will help us achieve sales growth,” said Golchha at an event to launch the bike here on Monday. “We plan to sell 25,000 units this fiscal year.”
The Discover 125 is available in two versions — Disc and Drum brake. The disc-brake variant is priced at Rs 167,900, while the other is available for Rs 162,900. The prices are introductory.
The new bike is laden with Bajaj’s very own 4-Valve DTS-technology that gives 20 percent more power, 15 percent more engine capability and 20 percent less emission compared to other single-spark 125 cc bikes. The company said in a statement the bike offers a mileage of 76kmpl.
The Discover 125 comes with standard Nitrox gas-charged suspension, electric start and DC headlamp. The engine produces a peak power of 11.5ps, which helps the bike reach a top speed of 100kmph. The bike’s fuel tank capacity is 9.5 litres.
Other features of the motorcycle include low maintenance battery, petal disc brakes and premium aluminium side sets, which make it easy to ride and easy to balance especially on the busy streets of the city, the statement said. “That’s why it is called as the perfect combination of aggression and sensibility,” it stated.
The new Discover 125 is available in five colour options — Charcoal (Green Silver Deluxe), Black (Magenta Silver Deluxe), Electron Blue Platinum Silver (Black Ice Blue Deluxe), Platinum Silver (Black Gold Deluxe) And Wine Red.
