BIG CINEMAS MULTIPLEX THEATRE
Kathmandu’s movie buffs now have yet another destination to enjoy the latest releases. BIG Cinemas, the new multiplex under the BIG Cinemas banner — India’s large cinema chain, has opened at NLIC City Centre, Kamal Pokhari. It will be open to the public from February 12 onwards. Speaking at a press meet held at the City Centre on February 11, Govinda Sanghai, Director of BIG Cinemas’ venture in Nepal said, “We aim to reinvent the multiplex experience for Nepali movie lovers by providing them world class amenities.”
The new multiplex has three auditoriums with wall-to-wall screen accompanied by DTS and Dolby Digital sound systems. All the three auditoriums are furnished with wide luxurious pushback seats. A spacious waiting lounge, special luggage counter and a well-stocked bar have been accommodated in order to offer customers a complete service and the finest movie experience. A separate food court at the lounge ‘Movie.Munchies’ offers a wide variety of food and beverages for the patrons.
“We will be screening Nepali, Hindi as well as English movies that matche the taste and expectations of the audience,” stated Rajendra Aryal, Managing Director of Trikon Advertising, the official advertisers of BIG Cinemas. The tickets are priced at Rs 300, Rs 250 and Rs 200. “We have a special discount offer of 50 per cent for students for the morning shows on Saturdays,” added Aryal.
The first public screening at the multiplex will take place on the morning of February 12 with the screening of the latest release My Name is Khan.
