Arun Intercontinental Traders, the authorised dealer of Maruti Suzuki, will be officially launching its Eeco van after the Tihaar festival.

Rajendra Kumar Agrawal, General Manager, automobile division of Arun Intercontinental Traders, said the new van from Maruti Suzuki was suitable for tour and travel companies, hotels, guest houses and resorts, airports, schools and corporate houses, among others.

“This new van from Maruti Suzuki is different from others. It is a multipurpose van which is useful for small families as well as big organizations,” said Agrawal. “Moreover, because of its large size and open space, it delivers the finest travelling experience.”

The Eeco will be available in three versions. The vans come in five-seater and seven-seater models. The five-seater model comes with the option of air conditioning.

5-seater van costs Rs 14,48,000
7-seater van costs Rs 15,49,000
5-seater with AC costs Rs 15,59,000

The vans are available in six colours — metallic midnight black, metallic blue blaze, bright red, metallic glistering grey, metallic silky silver and superior white.

Equipped with an aluminium engine, the Eeco has a five-speed transmission, four cylinders, 16 valves and a maximum power of 73 bhp at 6000 rpm. Likewise, the van has ventilated disc brakes on the front wheels and drum brakes on the rear wheels and tubeless tires. The Eeco’s engine has a capacity of 1196 cc which makes it a robust four-wheeler. The van delivers a mileage of 15 km per litre.

As far as safety and security is concerned, the four-wheeler comes with headlight levelling, side impact beams, child lock for sliding doors and windows, seat belts on all the seats and high-mount stop lamp.

The company will also provide sales, service and spares (3S) facilities through its 15 outlets across the nation. Out of the 15 outlets, seven are located in the Kathmandu Valley.

Maruti Suzuki is the leader in the domestic four-wheeler market. The company claimed that its market share last year stood at around 49 percent. “Because of the best resale value, low maintenance cost, fuel efficiency and easy provision of service, Maruti has been able to maintain itself as the market leader for years,” said Agrawal.
