Sipradi Trading Pvt Ltd, the distributor of Tata Motors in Nepal, has launched a new SUV, Tata Nexon, in the Nepali market.

Issuing a statement on Friday, Tata Motors has announced the launch of its fourth product based on ‘impact design’.

Tata Nexon offers four variants; XE, XM, XT and XZ+ along with five colors.As mentioned in the statement, Tata Nexon comes in Vermont Red, Moroccan Blue, Seattle Silver, Glasgow Grey and Calgary White colors.

The vehicle is on sale from Friday in the market with an introductory price of Rs 3.27 million for the petrol variant and Rs 4.15 million for the diesel variant, Sipradi added.

It’s the first sub-4 metre SUV from Tata Motors and will compete in the market with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Ford EcoSports.

The Tata Nexon is based on the company’s new Impact design philosophy so, it comes with a lot of bold character, premium features and styling.

The exterior comes with some specific styling elements like white accents for the foglamps, dual tone paint scheme, projector headlamps, LED DRLs, body-coloured door handles and mirrors, 16-inch alloy wheels and much more. The Nexon also gets multi drive modes – Eco, City, and Sport, something that we’re familiar with and an all new touchscreen dashtop HD display for infotainment from Harman that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Powertrain wise the Tata Nexon gets a new 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbocharged Revotron petrol motor makes 108 bhp and 170 Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the new 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine, joining the Revotorq family, churns out the same 108 bhp but develops 260 Nm of peak torque. Both come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard.

In terms of dimensions, even though marginally the Nexon is the smaller than all its rival with a length of 3994 mm, however, it’s one of the widest, second only to the TUV300, at 1811 mm. Height is 1607 mm and the wheelbase is 2498 mm. The Nexon has the highest ground clearance of 209 mm and has a boot capacity of 350 litres, which can expanded to 690 litres.
