Macaulay Culkin is “Home Alone” again in the new Google Assistant ad

Google has just released a brand new fabulous festive ad for Google Assistant and its “smart” product line, starring the formerly “Hollywood child”, Macaulay Culkin.

Essentially, this is a re-inspiration of the film “Home Alone”, this time with Culkin embodying a now-no longer Kevin, who is alone in a house apparently “filled” with devices that control vocals, allowing him to shop online , turn on the heating, and even .. cheat the bandits, always with the help of Google Assistant.

30 years after the first film was released, the actor is starring in a Home Alone-themed Google advert, and it’s incredible!

Google also released a video behind the cameras showing how the making of Making Of, revealing another dimension of its collaboration with Macaulay Culkin.

As it turns out, not much has changed over the years. In the ad, Culkin’s Kevin is up to the same routine: bed jumping, shower time, and dinner before setting Operation Kevin into motion. Seriously, everything from the house exterior to the wallpaper is spot on.

The difference is now, Google has Kevin’s logistics covered. He can use Google Assistant to lock his door and operate his robot vacuum. While that’s all fine and good, I can’t help but feel that there’s something a little more authentic about a 10-year-old stopping a home invasion the way it’s supposed to be done: by hand. Show me a automated system that can launch a paint can from the top of the stairs to take out Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern, and I’ll throw all my money at you.

Regardless, it’s good to see Culkin back in action.
