Realme, the sub-brand of Oppo has launched its third smartphone RealMe 2 Pro today at an event held in Amity University.

The company launched RealMe 2 Pro along with another entry-level device RealMe C1 which has better hardware specs at a low price.

The newly launched RealMe smartphones will go on sale on Oct 11 via online stores in India.

RealMe 2 Pro

The Realme 2 Pro comes with 6.3-inch FHD+ display, screen to body ratio of 90.8, and 19.5:9 aspect ratio with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC, which is also seen on the more expensive Xiaomi Mi A2, Vivo V11 Pro and Nokia 7 Plus. It’s a powerful and capable chipset that combines both energy efficiency and the ability to run demanding apps and use-case scenarios, and that makes it among the best mid-range chipsets around today.

Apart from that, you also get up to 8GB of RAM, which is entirely unheard of till now in this price range. The phone is available in 3 different variants with RAM configuration of 4GB , 6 GB or 8 GB sizes and a storage space of 64 GB and 128 GB .

Realme is using UFS 2.0 storage for faster data transfer on 128GB storage while 64GB comes with EMMC5.1. There are also dedicated slots for two SIM cards as well as a micro-SD card.

The Realme 2 Pro comes with dual rear cameras, primary one has 16-megapixel with f/1.7 aperture, and EIS. There is AI mode that can recognize between 100 scenes. Up front is a 16-megapixel selfie snapper. The AI cameras also feature portrait lighting effects. In addition, it has a  rear-mounted fingerprint reader, the RealMe 2 Pro also offers a software-based face unlock feature.

To keep things ticking, smartphone comes with 3,500mAh battery.

Although Realme wants to be considered a separate entity from Oppo, there are obvious links to its parent company. While the manufacturer and software are the clearest hints, there are also strong similarities in the design of the phone.

The Realme 2 strongly resembles the Oppo F9 Pro in many ways, including the screen, notch, size and dimensions, button layout and build quality.
