Vivo’s new sub-brand iQoo smartphone launched for gaming enthusiasts


Vivo continues to present very interesting smartphones, which present an extremely competitive price/quality ratio. Proof of this, is the recently presented Vivo V15 Pro. Therefore, it will be expected that iQOO will follow the same strategy.

Vivo , the most innovative company in the smartphone world has launched it’s new brand iQoo that will deal with Premium Smartphones to cater the gaming community. It’s first device seems to be a real monster when it comes to power and performance but is also lot cheaper than other flagship gaming phones.

On March 1st, Vivo’s new sub-brand iQOO held a new product launch conference in Shenzhen, officially launching the iQOO brand of smartphones for the gaming enthusiasts.

This new smartphone comes with best specifications and features compared to other models curently available in the market. The highlight of the device includes its hardware specs and features that come with several turbo modes especially built for gaming that further enhances its performance.


The iQOO smartphone comes in four different configuration of – 6GB+128GB, 8GB+128GB ,8GB+256GB and the 12GB+256GB version which is dubbed as the Monster Edition.

As a new performance flagship, all variants of iQOO smartphones comes standard with a Snapdragon 855 SoC, which is better suited to users adopting a new generation of flagship cores. It has ample RAM and internal storage to handle plethora of apps in the background and can guarantee smooth experience for users of all categories. To keep things ticking a 4000mAh large battery with 44W ultra-fast flash charge, which can be recharged to 50% in 15 minutes and fully charged in 45 minutes, saves a lot of your time.

The highest variant in this series, the iQoo Monster is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset, with a mega memory powerhouse of  12GB RAM and a matching internal storage of 256GB  equipped with 4000mAh large battery and 44W ultra-fast flash charging technology. It also comes with Vivo Multi-Turbo feature  and Monster Touch pressure buttons to provide unique experience to the user while playing games.

The display of this devices is at 6.41 inches with AMOLED screen, 16M colors Full HD+ and a resolution of 1080X2340 pixels with 19.5: 9 and in-display fingerprint sensor.

iQOO’s Monster variant(12GB+256GB) is built with perfect blend of metal and carbon fiber and comes in Knight Black color.

As this is an equipment designed for gaming, there are several modes to particularly boost its performance level. In fact, thanks to the Multi-Turbo mode which increases the frame-rate by 70% and also the smoothness of applications opening by 30%. In addition, you will be able to automatically switch from Wi-Fi to 4G without any disruptions while playing games.

At the press conference, iQOO’s product director demonstrated the ultra-fast flash charging feature, which filled a 3% low-powered iQOO mobile phone with 77% of power in around 24 minutes with a 44W charger. The lowest variant(6GB+128GB) is exempt from this features and only comes with 22.5W charger.


The IQOO runs Funtouch OS 9 UI on top of Android 9.0 Pie and comes in two color options of Lava Orange and ELectrio-Optic Blue.In terms of product appearance, iQOO rear panel incorporates the design language of “Speed ​​Art” and adds elements such as super running lines, wheel texture, dark night light rail and LED light strip.


The powerful performance of iQOO is not only reflected in the hardware, but with the addition Vivo’s Multi-Turbo enhancements it gives users an extraordinary e-sports experience.


A special set of in-game features can be activated on the IQOO smartphone by simply holding the invisible points(Monster Touch pressure sensor button) on the upper and lower sides of the side-panel( on the power button side) to enter into Special Game Mode environment and also activate the on-screen L/R buttons. The buttons can then be remapped and positioned according to the user’s requirement.The Monster Halo game lighting effect, 4D game sound and game stereo surround sound are also available, allowing users to get an immersive experience from touch to hearing.

iQOO’s powerful game performance has also been recognized professionally in the field of professional e-sports. Incorporated with powerful smart chip, iQOO mobile phone can also provide better support for AI voice, shooting, and X-Reality experience. As the first smartphone to support the new Elite Gaming experience, iQOO supports True HDR technology which allows users to get rich picture quality while playing games. The new UI design of the iQOO is designed to provide users with a smoother and more elegant interactive experience with a dual combination of latest processor and large memory.


In the photographic department, iQOO  is equipped with dual-core 12 MP Sony IMX363 main camera, 13 MP  super wide-angle lens and 2 MP depth of field camera, which can easily meet the daily needs of users. The front selfie camera is a 12MP shooter which comes with HDR feature and can record videos at 1080p.  iQOO has 120° wide angled camera vision combined with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 powerful AI scene detection ability, which quickly matches the corresponding camera mode regardless of the scenery, architecture, or a group photo, it can take amazing pictures anytime and everywhere.

Based on the leading AI intelligent algorithm, iQOO is also equipped with powerful camera functions such as super-backlighting, super night scene and AI beauty to meet the needs of different scenes.


The iQoo recently appeared on Antutu Benchmark with a score of 406,958 beating all flagship smartphones from all corners in performance.

Previously, netizens had been wondering about the meaning of the iQOO brand name. The company explained  that iQOO is the abbreviation of the initials – I Quest On and On (IQOO), which means that the pursuit to find something better never ends, and it keeps you on and on. “Born and powerful” is the slogan of iQOO. While constantly pursuing the perfect combination of “excellent performance” and “unique experience”, iQOO hopes to bring more surprises to the millennials in the near future.


The iQOO smartphone comes in four different configuration, of which the 6GB+128GB version is priced at 2,998 yuan($447), the 8GB+128GB version is priced at 3,298 yuan($492), the 8GB+256GB version is priced at 3,598 yuan ($537), and the 12GB+256GB Monster version is priced at 4,298 yuan($641).

The next-generation of performance flagship iQOO mobile phone will be officially launched on March 6th in the chinese market.
