Samsung Galaxy M40 with Snapdragon 675 and 6 GB RAM spotted in Geekbench
This year the South Korean manufacturer decided to introduce a new family of smartphones designed to compete with Xiaomi, Honor and even Realme – all sub-brands of chinese smartphone makers. The new Samsung Galaxy M were introduced earlier this year in India, immediately gaining great success thanks to the excellent price to quality ratio.
Samsung started the year with the introduction of the new Galaxy M family. This is aimed at developing markets as they are entry-level models.
After presenting the Galaxy M10, M20 and M30, the manufacturer should already be making the last preparations to present what should be the most attractive of the four new models, the Samsung Galaxy M40. Featuring the most powerful smartphone in the new mid-range smartphone family, this smartphone has just been certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance.
The Galaxy M40 which has been lit up on the Wi-Fi Alliance portal is preparing to release -more precisely, the SM-M405F model, running under the Android 9 Pie mobile operating system.
But unfortunately, this type of certification does not reveal any kind of detail about the specifications of the smartphone. However, it managed to reveal a very pleasant surprise. So far, all the models of this new family have arrived with Android Oreo, but this will not happen with the Galaxy M40. According to certification, this mid-range will arrive with Android Pie and its respective One UI.
Although the presentation of the new Samsung Galaxy M40 seems to be getting closer, details about its possible specifications are still nonexistent. The various rumors that have circulated, only point to a considerable improvement when compared to the Galaxy M30.
As you would expect, the Samsung Galaxy M40 is expected to come with a more powerful processor and more engaging photo capabilities.
Samsung Galaxy M40 Specification
Based on latest rumours leaked on Geekbench, the Galaxy M40 will sport a Snapdragon 675 SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. The device managed to get a score of 2,350 and 6,410 points in the benchmark tool’s single and multi-core tests, respectively.
The Galaxy M40 bearing model number SM-M405F is listed on Geekbench with Snapdragon 675 SoC, 6GB RAM, and Android Pie. The smartphone made a score of 2,350 and 6,410 points in the benchmark tool’s single and multi-core tests, respectively. To compare side by side the Oneplus 6 launched last year obtained 2390 points on Geekbench benchmark on single core tests. Which implies that the M40 will be as powerful as the Oneplus 6.
The model will have some premium features than the M30 and is speculated to now feature an Super AMOLED Infinity-U display on the front and boast a triple camera setup at the back.
After all, this is one of the segments that weighs most when users decide which smartphone they will buy.
Although it is guaranteed that this will be the most expensive smartphone in the Galaxy M family – it should continue to remain competitive when compared to the competition, so as to speak with chinese manufacturers. The great goal of this M-family is to deal with Xiaomi and other Chinese manufacturers, so it does not seem likely that we will see the Samsung Galaxy M40 arrive with a very high price.
Additionally, there are also unverified sources which point out that Samsung is also preparing to launch another model – the Galaxy M50.
