The Korean Language Test (KLT) conducted by the Employment Permit System (EPS) in South Korea for Nepali job aspirants has been scheduled for June 8 and 9.

The EPS Korea Section at the Department of Foreign Employment (DoFE) informed that necessary groundwork to hold the KLT in a fair manner simultaneously in Kathmandu and Pokhara has been completed. For this purpose, altogether 32 examination centres have been fixed.

As per DoFE, the examination will be conducted in two shifts where the first shift will begin from 8am and the second shift of the examination will begin from 11.30am.

A total of 92,376 aspirants have filed their applications to attend the KLT this year. Meanwhile, 63,487 aspirants have applied for jobs in the production sector and 28,889 in the agriculture sector.

In 2018, a total of 82,264 applicants had registered themselves for the language test. Similarly, 68,383 people had applied for the test in 2017 and 60,626 in 2016.

The Korean government recruits migrant workers from 16 countries including Nepal and the skill test provision has already been implemented in all the other countries. This year the skill test provision will be implemented in Nepal too.

The South Korean government will be providing employment opportunities to 7,100 Nepali workers in 2019.
