LG UltraGear gaming monitor

At the E3 exhibition, LG Electronics presented the LG UltraGear gaming monitor, which uses Nano IPS technology, due to which it was possible to get a response time of 1 ms – for the first time in an LCD monitor with an IPS type screen.

As stated, the monitor provides “phenomenal color reproduction.” It supports screen refresh rates up to 144 Hz (with overclocking capability up to 175 Hz) and Nvidia G-Sync technology.

In fact, there are two models: 38-inch model 38GL950G with a resolution of 3840 x 1600 pixels and 27-inch 27GL850 with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The maximum brightness is 350 and 450 cd / m2, respectively. The 38GL950G features a concave screen with an aspect ratio of 21: 9 and a full-color backlight on the Sphere Lighting 2.0.

Monitors cover 98% of the DCI-P3 color space and 135% of the sRGB color space. The smaller model complies with the HDR10 specification, and the larger one with DisplayHDR 400. The monitors are equipped with dual-port USB 3.0 hubs. To connect to a video source, there are HDMI inputs (there are even two of them in the 27GL850) and DisplayPort.

In the European market, sales of LG UltraGear monitors with Nano IPS screens should begin in the third quarter of this year.
