Xiaomi has officially unveiled a new line of smartphones, including the CC9, CC9e and CC9 Meitu Custom Edition, at an event in China.
Xiaomi, in cooperation with the Meitu brand, also introduced a special Mi CC9 Meitu Edition with a gradient pink-green color, designed to resemble the famous beaches of the Bahamas.
It has the same characteristics as the CC9, but offers camera features that has been borrowed from original Meitu smartphones . Features include – video editing capabilities, and a unique AI function for capturing high-quality portraits in low light conditions.
The smartphone also receives an excellent AI Beautify function, which is designed to accurately carry out a digital cosmetic enhancement of the face for a more natural looking photo. The device comes with a special theme of the user interface and a ringtone that is in harmony with the holographic back cover.
The phone comes with a 6.39-inch display with a resolution of 1080×2340 pixels at a pixel density of 403 pixels per inch (ppi).
The CC9 Meitu Custom Edition is powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 710 processor. It comes with 8GB of RAM.
The smartphone runs on Android Pie and is powered by a 4,030mAh battery which also supports proprietary fast charging.
As far as the cameras are concerned, the CC9 Meitu Custom Edition on the rear packs a 48-megapixel primary camera; a second 8-megapixel camera and a third 2-megapixel camera. It sports a 32-megapixel camera on the front for selfies, with an f/2.0 aperture.
The device runs MIUI 10 based on Android Pie and packs 256GB of inbuilt storage that can be expanded via microSD card (up to 256GB). The Meitu Custom Edition is a dual-SIM smartphone that accepts Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM cards.
Connectivity options on the Meitu Custom Edition include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, Bluetooth v5.00, NFC, and USB Type-C. Sensors on the phone include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and fingerprint sensor and also comes with support for face unlock.
The Xiaomi Mi CC9 Meitu Custom Edition measures 156.80 x 74.50 x 8.67mm (height x width x thickness) and weighs 179.00 grams. It was launched in Blue Planet, Dark Prince, and and White Lover colours.
The Meitu Custom Edition is priced at 2599 yuan ($380) for a single version of 8/256 GB. The start of sales of CC9 is scheduled for July 5th.
