Redmi 8A with 5000 mAH battery set for Sept 25 Launch
Xiaomi in May launched Redmi 7a and the successor of this model Redmi 8A is ready for launch next week. Xiaomi is set to launch Redmi 8A on Wednesday May 25th in India with a generous 5,000 mAh battery — an impressive upgrade over it’s predecessor which has 4,000 mAh.
The Chinese manufacturer has created an event page on its official website in India, announcing features like faster loading, “Aura wave grip” design that offers “great hand feel” and cameras that allow capturing “professional” photos ready for social media.
The page also confirms that Redmi 8A will have a screen with drop-notch and thick bottom chin and will offer immersive viewing experience. The device is expected to come with a dual rear camera setup and house an HD+ display.
There is also a photo showing the rear of the device, which goes against the images recently caught by the TENAA, the Chinese equivalent for the National Telecommunications Agency.
Xiaomi has not officially published the specifications yet, but thanks to TENAA, we can confirm that this device going to sport a 6.2-inch display with 1,520 x 720 pixels resolution and octa-core processor running at 2 GHz. The device is expected to come in various memory configurations of 2 GB, 3 GB and 4 GB with an internal storage space of 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB.
The listing on the TENAA site also suggested that the new Redmi phone would have the dual rear camera setup with a 12-megapixel primary sensor and an 8-megapixel selfie camera.
The device will run on Android 9.0 Pie and the battery capacity has been confirmed to be of 5000 mAh capacity.
Currently, there is no confirmation on the pricing of this device but as the target consumers are from budget segment hence, the device could be priced very low.
As its predecessor Redmi 7A, the Redmi 8A is also going to enchant the masses who belong to the budget segment. It looks like Redmi is going to repeat its success story twice in a year, a new strategy to stay ahead in the business.
