Apple iPhone 5G smartphone sales growth in Q3-2021

The strategy That Apple prepared at the launch of the iPhone 12 seems to be working. With the 5G bet on all its new iPhones from model 12, the company remains on the podium of sales of smartphones equipped with 5G technology.

According to new research shared by Strategy Analytics, cupertino’s company remains strong and Samsung managed to outrun OPPO in third quarter sales this year.

5G: Samsung is stronger and chases Xiaomi in second position
The market remains strong, however, the battle is very fierce in the Android world, where Samsung managed to overtake OPPO and now hopes to overtake Xiaomi as well.

Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi slowed down during the third quarter, while Honor posted an impressive increase. This rise reached 194% in the third quarter.

Honor was the fastest growing Android 5G smartphone brand when it comes to counterpart quarter comparison. Honor 5G smartphones are rapidly increasing in popularity in China. Honor was previously a sub-brand of Huawei, but earlier this year was created as an independent company.

The company’s 50 5G, 50 SE 5G and 50 Pro 5G were its top 5G smartphones in the third quarter of 2021.

Xiaomi’s slowdown

While the momentum for the 5G is clearly offsetting most phone manufacturers, Xiaomi’s performance in the market has slowed, especially as Samsung has pushed harder on key markets such as Europe.

The vast portfolio of 5G devices is obviously giving samsung fruit, especially as the company has brought such capabilities to more affordable models, including the A-series.

Xiaomi, which posted impressive growth in global sales of 5G smartphones in 2Q 2021, saw this growth stagnate in 3Q 2021, with sales growth at a steady pace in the most recent quarter. Samsung’s resurgence slowed Xiaomi’s growth capacity in Europe in the third quarter of 2021, while OPPO increased in China.

Faced with a combination of these scenarios, that of Samsung outside China and OPPO in China, Xiaomi saw demand for its 5G smartphones slow considerably in the third quarter of 2021.

Samsung is preparing to launch new models that will continue its 5G sales boost, notably the Galaxy S21 FE and Galaxy S22. Apple continues with strong sales across the iPhone 13 range and could launch a cheaper 5G smartphone with the third-generation iPhone SE.
