Arc Vector : Most Advanced and Futuristic Electric Motorcycle

Arc Vector

We have a new electric bike that will make even the most high-tech motorcycles of today feel like they are made of wood.

Mark Truman, the former head of Jaguar Land Rover’s White Space business, is the guy behind this notion (their crazy ideas department).

As of EICMA 2018, the Arc Vector has been dubbed the most luxurious electric motorcycle.

Only 355 of them has been manufactured. With a list price of well over $118,000 USD, we shouldn’t be shocked. Does the bike’s exorbitant price tag, then, make sense? To help you decide, we’ll lay down the numbers and features here.

Arc Vector Specs

A 399-volt electric motor provides 140PS of power and 85Nm of peak torque in this ultra-modern electric bike.

A single-speed gearbox is used to transfer power from the engine to the rear wheels. The bike can go from 0-100kmph in less than three seconds and reach a top speed of more than 200kmph with this setup.

Carbon-fibre monocoque chassis housing the unique battery pack and motor of the bike.

As a result of the package’s tight and compact design, it has a lower centre of gravity and therefore better handling characteristics.

According to the manufacturer, the Arc Vector weighs 25 percent less and has a battery that is 30 percent larger than its nearest competitor.

“The cells we have are still prototypes,” Arc’s founder, Mark Truman, explains. A company representative said, “There isn’t another electric bike that has the type of cells we have.”

The bike’s Samsung-made 16.8kWh battery pack allows it to be fully charged in 30 minutes and allows it to travel 320 kilometres on a single charge in the city.

It has a top speed of about 200 km/h on the highway.

As described by Truman, “The Vector is the world’s first electric motorcycle with integrated multisensory HMI (Human Machine Interface), the first motorcycle to include a revolutionary heads-up display helmet, and the first motorcycle to feature a tactile riding suit.”

A Wi-Fi-enabled HUD helmet is standard equipment on all bikes. What we’ve come to refer to as “Vegeta’s scouter” is integrated into the design of this helmet. These crucial bike readouts are shown on a little transparent glass shield that stands out in front of your right eye. In addition, the Arc Vector’s keyless ignition is controlled through the HUD helmet.

A sophisticated haptic jacket is included with Arc’s bikes, as well. According to the manufacturer, the ‘audio-type haptic amplifiers’ integrated inside this custom-tailored riding jacket are more like vibrators on your smartphone.

To put it another way, the jacket uses sensors around the bike to give the rider a sense of what they are doing.

To put it another way, the jacket taps the rider on the shoulder to warn him/her about a car in their blind spot using its “haptic amplifiers.”

Other than that, the jacket employs its built-in speakers to let the rider experience the music. Using both a helmet and a jacket when riding is a more safe and enjoyable experience.

There are also modified Ohlin dampers and Brembos for the braking system on this bike.

If you’re willing to spend a lot of money on a motorcycle, you’ll get a glimpse of what the future of the sport holds for us.
