why these prices is so high compare to other country……….

sk Mar 25, 2010 at 3:11 pm

Beacuse of the tax imposed.

Lets compare this:
I just bought a new 2010 toyota camry at 20 thousand dollars (roughly 1.4 mil NPR). i paid $640 on taxes in United states.

The Price (in nepal)of basic model listed here is 5.3 million. this is because of the higher tax on cars in nepal.

can u upload other brand like hyudai, holden

ktm2day Feb 26, 2010 at 5:05 am

For a poor country like Nepal the government has categorized vehicles to fall under luxury items and hence 210% customs tax is added on top of the original price right at customs entry point.

Please find Hyundai Car Prices in the link below;

I have heard that government is planning to increase the tax to 400% for cars. But I am not sure about this one. Anyone can confirm this halla?

Manuals Mar 22, 2010 at 6:04 pm

Owner manuals have always been freely available from bookshops and dealerships, as well as on the Internet, but the major problem has been that they tend to be pretty expensive. A new site that permits you to download them free of charge, however, means that you really don’t need to worry about the cost (which can often be as much as it costs to get a fault repaired, depending on the car you have).

Mitsubishi Repair Manual Apr 2, 2010 at 4:52 am

It is advantageous, then, to have a repair service manual for your car, whether it is a Bugatti Veyron or a Hillman Imp. Knowing what has gone wrong with the car, and whether you can run the repairs yourself, is helpful for so many reasons. A good service repair manual will make it easier to drive with confidence, knowing that you have all the information you need to make the repair job less stressful, and possibly less expensive.

Why car prices are so expensive in Nepal? Is it because the government’s 100/200%(God knows)tax policy over the normal sale price? Normal and middle class citizens will not be able to purchase even the very small or cheapest car in Nepal. It is only for politicians and people who are in a position to have privileged of corruption. As far as I believe that there are very few people who hold the job that could genuinely offer enough salary to buy a car. Business people may buy without difficulities.

Pramesh Aug 6, 2010 at 11:53 am

Its expensive cause of the tax duhhh.
governmnet has to tax on something
its like that cause of citizens not paying taxes so government gets it out of stuff like this.

Bid Jun 9, 2010 at 8:33 pm

these prices seem to be outdated……it was the same abt 11 months back…and accordin to some people it has grown rapidly recently…..i live in sydney and it wud be great if i cud get updated price…any ways gr8 site keep up……

ktm2day Jun 10, 2010 at 5:23 am

You are absolutely right ! Please view the price list as reference only and don’t take it too seriously.
It’s upto you to inquire the market and decide about the products you choose to buy. There are almost 1000 products listed here in ktm2day website which we cannot monitor at all times and can’t be updated regularly.

Sorry about this and thanks for your valuable comment.

Basanta Nov 1, 2010 at 1:27 pm

Hey, everybody, I know that government tax need to be paid as every country in the world do have tax policy where citizens pay from their incomes. But Nepal government must be either mad/crazy or too greedy to make money by taxing not sensibly. Forget about the majority of poor people of owning a motor vehicle. It is not even possible for middle class citizens. I also do not understand where all these fund disappair. I recently travelled to western Nepal from Kathmandu using road transport and I could not believe that the road condition from Kathmandu outwards. It is in diabolical state.
