At a time when globally Huawei is losing some spark in the smartphone market, the brand has started to bet on ranging from smartwatches to wireless earphones.

After launching FreeBuds 3, the company is now launching a more economical version of these headsets – FreeBuds 3i. These devices are not only cheap but also offer noise cancellation, for a value around 100 €.

In order to cut the price and give users a premium noise cancellation feature, the company had to cut back on other features. Hence, these earphones do not offer wireless charging, and the battery also has somewhat limited capacity.

The FreeBuds 3i come with 3.5 hours of battery life, extendable up to 14.5 hours from the storage case. Each headset has 37mAh of battery and the additional juice included in the storage case with 410 mAh.

These headsets weigh only 5.5 grams per piece, and in addition offers active noise cancellation for your music, and elimates external noise cancellation during your calls. Both earphones have capacitive sensors, with gesture controls for noise cancellation and playback. When used with a Huawei smartphone, the earphones offer quick pairing and setup.

The drivers are 10mm, Bluetooth is 5.0 and supports A2DP 1.3, HFP 1.6 and AVRCP 1.5. As you would expect in a 2020 product, they charge via USB type C. They are only available in ceramic white color.

Its design reminds us of the FreeBuds Lite launched last year and will be interesting for those who want noise cancellation without spending a lot.
