iQOO 9 and iQOO 9 Pro announced with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, 120W fast-charging, and more
To replace the iQOO 8 family, the iQOO 9 and iQOO 9 Pro smartphones have been launched in China. To differentiate it from the entry-level model, which has an almost perfectly flat front screen and straight sides, the Pro version has slightly curled edges.
The back of the phone has a huge camera module that holds triple camera sensors and LED flash, as well as a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. They both run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset with a 50MP primary camera and 120W fast charging capabilities. With the 9 series, the company is also reaffirming its relationship with BMW Motorsport.
iQOO 9
The iQOO 9 features a Samsung-made AMOLED E5 display with a stretched aspect ratio of 19.8:9 and a 6.78-inch screen size with FHD+ resolution (1,080 x 2,400 pixels). A maximum brightness of 1,500 nits and an 8,000,000:1 contrast ratio are possible thanks to the new technology.
Front-facing camera with 16 MP resolution is housed in a hole punch at the center of the display panel. Google pixel 6’s huge rectangular photo module appears to have been a major influence on the design of the back camera set.
The primary camera of Samsung GN5’s 50-megapixel with optical stabilization(OIS), a 120-degree wide-angle lens with a 13-megapixel sensor, and a 12-megapixel lens for portrait mode occupy the available space on the rear panel.
Qualcomm’s most powerful chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, powers the iQOO 9. A total of 12 gigabytes of LPDDR5 RAM and 512 gigabytes of UFS 3.1 storage is made available on this model. It’s important noting that 5G is supported by the platform. A 4,700 mAh battery with 120 watts of quick charging powers this device.
There’s also a fingerprint sensor built into the display. For Connectivity there’s a dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2. The device runs on Android 12.0-based OriginOS Ocean operating system. Games run more realistically thanks to the “X” 2-axis vibration mechanism.

iQOO 9 Pro
In place of the iQOO 9’s display, the iQOO 9 Pro features a 6.78-inch curved screen with 2nd generation LTPO AMOLED technology with 10-bit color depth and 120Hz refresh rate. There is a QHD+ (3,200 x 1,440) resolution on the panel, and a touch sampling rate of 360 Hz are included. A fingerprint sensor and stereo speakers are integrated into the display for added security.
Fisher-Eye Effect: The wide-angle lens features a 50MP sensor and a 150° field of vision, which makes it possible to take photographs with the effect. Similarly, the 16-megapixel sensor increase was applied to the lens specifically designed for portrait mode.
As with the iQoo 9, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC also powers the iQoo 9 Pro, along with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. UFS 3.1 storage is included in the smartphone.
Fast charging, wireless charging, and reverse charging are all supported by a 4,700mAh battery. 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C connection for charging and data syncing are among the connectivity options available.
The iQOO 9 Pro offers a 16MP front-facing camera for taking selfies. In addition to the 50MP (f/1.45 aperture) primary Samsung GN5 sensor, there is a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens with 150-degree FOV and a 16MP portrait camera on the back of the phone.

iQOO 9 and 9 Pro prices
Pre-orders for the iQOO 9 and iQOO 9 Pro are now open on the manufacturer’s website. The first shipments will be made on January 12th, which is the following Wednesday.
The “BMW Legendary Edition” of the iQOO 9 comes in white with red, black, and blue stripes and is available in black, orange, or the standard color selections. It is only available in the last two highest iQOO 9 Pro models.
