At the company’s Winter Edition Launch event, which took place on Friday, January 14, saw the introduction of the OnePlus 9RT in India. Oneplus 9’s latest feature comes just two days after the company debuted its next-generation smartphone, the OnePlus 10 Pro, in China.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset and 50-megapixel rear-facing camera set-up power the OnePlus 9RT. The 2020 OnePlus Buds Z earphones have been replaced by the OnePlus Buds Z2 true wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds. They’re equipped with ANC, which reduces background noise.

OnePlus 9RT’s features
The OxygenOS 11 layer on top of Android 11 powers the dual-SIM (Nano) OnePlus 9RT. On the inside, the OnePlus 9RT has an eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor and up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM. OnePlus claims that the new OnePlus 9RT has a larger heat sink and “Space Cooling” technology for greater heat dissipation and increased performance compared to the vanilla OnePlus 9, which has the same SoC.
On the front of the phone, there is a 6.62-inch Samsung E4 AMOLED display with 1,300 nits of peak brightness and a 120Hz refresh rate. By the company’s claims, the display boasts a touch sampling rate of 1,300Hz and a color gamut of 100% DCI:P3. HDR10+ is supported by the display, which has sRGB and DCI:P3 color modes.
OnePlus 9RT has a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 primary camera with an f/1.8 lens in its triple rear camera configuration. With optical image stabilization (OIS), the primary camera can record 4K 60fps video.
There’s also a 2-megapixel camera for macro photography on the 9RT, which features an 16 MP ultrawide camera with an f/2.2 lens that provides a 123-degree field-of-view. The 16-megapixel Sony IMX471 selfie camera on the OnePlus 9RT has an f/2.4 aperture.
As part of its Warp Charge 65T technology, the OnePlus 9RT has a 4,500mAh battery that supports 65W fast charging through USB Type-C. NFC and GPS/A-GPS capabilities are included, as well as Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth v5.2.
162.2×74.6×8.29mm and 198.5 grams are the dimensions and weight of the OnePlus 9RT.
