At their Inno Day today, OPPO unveiled the next generation of their foldable smartphone range, which includes a flip phone in addition to the foldable already established in the series.

Both the OPPO Find N2 and the OPPO Find N2 Flip have a revolutionary display design that reduces the appearance of folds while maintaining a lightweight feel in the hand.

When folded, the OPPO Find N was a more compact take on the foldable smartphone, and the Find N2 aims to improve upon that by being even lighter. The black vegan leather variant weighs only 233 grams, making it the lightest horizontally folding smartphone available.

Specification-wise, the Oppo Find N2 is powered by Android v13 and ColorOS v13.0.

The primary display is a 7.6-inch WUSXGA (1,792 x 1,920 pixel) AMOLED panel with an adjustable refresh rate of 120Hz, up to 240Hz touch sampling rate, and 1550nits of peak brightness.

Display features include an Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG) coating, a pixel density of 370ppi, and a screen-to-body ratio of 87.5%.

A 5.54-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,120 pixels) AMOLED display with up to 120Hz refresh rate, 429 PPI, 130Hz touch sampling rate, and a maximum brightness of 1,350 nits is included on the cover screen of the foldable smartphone.

Screen real estate is 90.6%, and it’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7.

The Oppo Find N2 is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and features 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage that is not extendable with a microSD card. A newer generation of hinge has been incorporated as well.

Optically, the Oppo Find N2 features a triple rear camera arrangement marketed under the Hasselblad branding.

This setup consists of a 50-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 48-megapixel wide-angle shooter, and a telephoto lens with a 49-degree field of view.

The 32 megapixel camera with an 88.5 degree field of vision is located on the back cover of the foldable smartphone, making it ideal for taking selfies and participating in video conversations. A MariSilicon X imaging NPU drives the camera system.

The Oppo Find N2 supports 5G and 4G LTE networks, as well as Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.3, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, Beidou, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, and a USB Type-C connector.

On board are a variety of sensors such as an accelerometer, gyroscope, hall sensor, proximity sensor, geomagnetic sensor, under-screen ambient light sensor, and under-screen color temperature sensor.

The fingerprint reader is conveniently located on the phone’s side. It also has the ability to use facial recognition for authentication.

The battery inside the Oppo Find N2 is a dual-cell unit that can store 4,520 mAh and supports fast charging at 67W with SuperVOOC 2.0. When folded, its dimensions are 72.6 x 14.6 x 132.2mm, and it weighs 237 grams in the glass variety.

The starting pricing of an Oppo Find N2 with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage is CNY 7,999 (about USD 1150).

To get your hands on the 16GB + 512GB storage option, you’ll need to part with CNY 8,999. (roughly USD 1290).

A range of colors, including Cloud White, Pine Green and Plain Black are available.

Pre-orders for the Oppo Find N2 and Oppo Find N2 Flip are now being accepted, with sales beginning in the coming weeks in China. The former is something the company will only sell in its own market, while the Oppo Find N2 Flip will be available in other countries.
