On Monday, Oppo Reno 8 became available for purchase in Indonesia. The newest 4G smartphone from Oppo, the Reno 8, comes in two color variants and features a 64-megapixel main sensor backed by a triple camera configuration supported by artificial intelligence.

The processor powering the Oppo Reno 8 is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 680, and the phone’s display boasts a refresh rate of 90Hz. The new phone has 256GB of storage space and 8GB of RAM standard, with the possibility of adding up to an additional 13GB by making use of the phone’s spare storage space.

The Oppo Reno 8 has a 4,500mAh battery and can be charged at a maximum speed of 33W with the included SuperVOOC charger.

The Oppo Reno 8 has a 6.43-inch full-HD (1,080 x 2,400) display with up to a 90Hz refresh rate and up to a 180Hz touch sampling rate, and it operates on Android 12 with ColorOS 12.1. It covers 97% of the NTSC color gamut and has a pixel density of 409ppi.

The 4G phone’s internals include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 system-on-chip (SoC), an octa-core 6nm GPU (Graphics Processing Unit), and 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. As previously indicated, unused internal storage can be used to “extend” the amount of usable memory to 13 GB(8+5).

The Oppo Reno 8 has three cameras located on the back, the main one being a 64-megapixel shooter with an f/1.7 lens and a 79-degree viewing angle. There’s also a 2MP macro camera with an f/3.3 lens and a 2MP mono sensor with an f/2.4 lens built into the camera module.

Selfies are a breeze with the 32-megapixel IMX709 sensor and f/2.4 lens found on the front of the Reno 8 series phone. Night photography, slow motion, time-lapse photography, panorama, portrait, and additional HD are just some of the professional photography and filmmaking modes supported by both the rear and front-facing cameras. As additional storage, it has 256GB of UFS 2.2 onboard.

The Oppo Reno 8 features 4G LTE, NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v5, a 3.5mm headphone jack, GPS/A-GPS, Glonass, OTG, and a USB Type-C connector, among other connectivity choices. Accelerometer, gravity sensor, geomagnetic sensor, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and pedometer are just some of the sensors on board. The device can be unlocked with both a fingerprint sensor and a facial recognition system built in.

Both the Oppo Reno 8 and the Oppo Reno 8 5G have a 4,500mAh battery. The battery can be charged in only five minutes using the 33W SuperVOOC charging technology and is supposed to provide up to 2.68 hours of talk time. In addition, the Oppo Reno 8 has dimensions of 73 x 159 x 7.6 mm, and it weighs 182 grams.

As of its release, the only configuration of the Oppo Reno 8 to feature 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage is priced at IDR 49,99,000 (about Rs. 42,700). Available for pre-order on JD.com, Shopee, and Lazada, with an official release date of August 25. Both Dawnlight Gold and Starlight Black color variants are available (translated).

There has been no word yet on when or how much the new Oppo Reno 8 will cost in different countries.
