Price of petroleum products increased again, diesel price crosses Rs 100

Nepal Oil Corporation has increased the price of petroleum products. The former retail price of petrol and diesel / kerosene has gone up by Rs 2 per liter. Now the price of petrol has been set at Rs 118 per liter and diesel Rs 101.

The retail price of aviation fuel (for domestic flights) has been increased by Rs 2 per liter to Rs 74.

The retail price of LP gas and aviation fuel (for international flights) has remained unchanged, said Binit Mani Upadhyaya, spokesperson of the corporation.

Even after this price adjustment, the corporation is still at loss of Rs. 9.35 per liter on petrol, Rs5.80 per liter on diesel and Rs 392.82 per cylinder on LP gas . Upadhyaya informed that the corporation will will still have to face a loss of Rs 1.27 billion on a fortnight basis.

He said that the loss will be managed from the price stabilization fund and the accumulated profit of the corporation. In recent months, the government has repeatedly increased the price of petroleum products.
