Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Leak Hints at Stem Design and Improved Battery Life

Seoul, South Korea – A new leak suggests a significant design change for Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Buds 3. Images obtained by 91Mobiles reportedly reveal the earbuds’ retail box, showcasing a design with stems – a departure from the stemless design of previous generations. This corroborates earlier rumors suggesting a design overhaul for Samsung’s flagship TWS earbuds in 2024.
The leak, citing industry sources, shows the Galaxy Buds 3 box featuring images of the earbuds with stems, similar to Apple’s AirPods Pro. The box also confirms Samsung’s continued partnership with acoustics engineering company AKG through its branding. Additionally, specifications on the box point towards “Made in China” manufacturing.
This leak aligns with a previous social media post showcasing a screenshot from the Samsung Members app, which depicted new iconography hinting at stemmed earbuds. It further strengthens claims by reputable leak source Evan Blass, who suggested both the Galaxy Buds 3 and Galaxy Buds 3 Pro might adopt a stemmed design – a first for Samsung’s premium TWS earbuds.
Potential Battery Life Improvement
The alleged Galaxy Buds 3 retail box also offers clues about battery life. It suggests up to 6 hours of playback on a single charge, however, it remains unclear whether this is with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) enabled or disabled. If the figure reflects ANC use, it would represent a positive leap from the Galaxy Buds 2’s 5-hour playback with ANC on.
The box further indicates support for quick charging, promising an hour of playback with just 10 minutes of charging. Additionally, it mentions “adjustable secure-fit earhooks” and sweat/water resistance for the Galaxy Buds 3.
Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Buds 3 alongside its flagship foldable smartphones at a rumored July Galaxy Unpacked event.
