Self Drive Nepal will be the sole rental partner for BYD electric vehicles.

BYD India announced Monday that it has struck a deal with its Nepalese partner, Cimex Inc Pvt Ltd, to deliver 50 units of its electric multi-purpose vehicle, the e6 electric, to Self Drive Nepal Pvt Ltd for rental fleet operation.

Self Drive Nepal, a subsidiary of Spark Group, will become the exclusive rental partner for BYD electric vehicles under the terms of the agreement, the company said in a statement.

Additionally, a BYD service center will be established at Spark Group’s Guheshwori, Kathmandu, site, which is planned to open in May 2022.

“We have been exploring several avenues for promoting electric mobility in Nepal using BYD’s green technologies. We are certain that we have found the perfect partner for this endeavor because we share many of the same goals of delivering safe, dependable, and efficient green transportation in cities,” Cimex Inc CEO Sahil Shrestha stated.

“BYD’s e6 will meet all of our specifications for passenger comfort, range, and rapid charging,” Self Drive CEO Roshan Pokharel stated.
