Oppo A56 5G launched with MediaTek Dimensity 700 and 5000 mAh battery
For the first time on Monday, Oppo unveiled the Model A56 5G, a new generation of smartphones in the company’s A series with identical characteristics to its predecessor, but with hardware improvements and advancements such as 5G network connectivity and a massive battery.
The announcement validated certain prior reports, including the manufacturer’s usage of the MediaTek platform and design elements like gradient colors and a notch on the device for the second time in a row.
Other manufacturers have long since replaced the notch in drop format, but it is still there in both the latest OPPO launch and the previous model. The OPPO A56 5G boasts a 6.5-inch LCD screen.
It has a similar design to its predecessor’s in terms of the back panel, however it only contains two camera sensors instead of the three as seen on the A55.
A 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor are mounted vertically in a rectangular module that also houses the LED flash
The A56 5G is equipped with a chipset Dimensity 700, which is also found in the Galaxy A22 5G and POCO M3 Pro, for example. It also has a Mali-G57 GPU and 6GB of RAM, making it a good choice for consumers who want an intermediate phone between high-end and low-end devices.
However, one of its biggest drawbacks may be the large battery that only charges at 10W and has a capacity of 5,000mAh, which is a significant shortcoming considering other devices in the same price range that offer faster charging at higher power. It’s also worth noting that wireless charging isn’t supported, and the interface is USB-C.
