The Bikram Samvat is an ancient calendar system that has guided the lives of millions in the Indian subcontinent for over two millennia. Steeped in legend and astronomical wisdom, the calendar is believed to have been established by the legendary King Vikramaditya around 57 BCE to commemorate his victory over the Saka rulers.
