Vivo’s New Y38 is a Budget Battery Monster with Decent Specs
Vivo has taken the wraps off its latest affordable smartphone, the Y38, and it seems to be packing quite a punch in the battery life department.
Launched first in Taiwan, this entry-level device could give you amazing battery endurance without burning a huge hole in your pocket.
At the core, the Y38 gets Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset which should provide enough muscle for basic and medium usage. You also get a generous 8GB RAM and 256GB storage which is expandable. Not too shabby for a budget offering!
But the real showstopper here is the massive 6,000mAh battery paired with 44W fast charging. With a battery this huge, you can probably binge-watch shows, play games, and still have juice left over for the next day or two. Finally, a budget phone that doesn’t require being plugged in all the time!
The 6.68-inch LCD display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and 1,000 nits peak brightness is another plus. You get a reasonably large and fairly bright panel which should make content consumption a pleasant experience.
Camera specs are nothing to write home about – a 50MP main cam, 2MP depth sensor, and an 8MP selfie shooter. But then you can’t expect flagship camera performance at this price point.
Other goodies include IP64 dust/water resistance, NFC, and all the latest connectivity options like Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1. Vivo is offering the Y38 in just two colors for now – blue and green.
