Vivo last month launched the Y93 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 and the company has now unveiled a premium version of Y93 in the form of Y93s smartphone which comes with MediaTek Helio P22 chipset.
Most of other features remain the same as to the original Y93 – such as 6.2-inch 720x1520px display with a teardrop-styled notch for the 8MP f/2.0 selfie camera.
There are two other cameras on the vivo Y93s – a 13MP f/2.2 snapper paired to a 2MP f/2.4 depth-sensing second camera.
The aforementioned Helio P22 chipset is on par with the Snapdragon 439, on paper. Both feature eight Cortex-A53 cores that can run at up to 2.0GHz and both are built on a 12nm process. Also both the Y93 and the Y93s offer 4GB of RAM. The battery on the vivo Y93s is an ample 4,030mAh.
The Vivo Y93s measures 155.11 x 75.09 x 8.28mm and it weighs 163.5 rams. It is fitted with a 6.2-inch waterdrop notch screen. The IPS LCD panel produces HD+ resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9.
The newly announced Vivo Y93s phone has MediaTek MT6762 (Helio P22). The SoC is coupled with 4 GB of RAM. It carries a larger internal storage of 128 GB. Users can add up to 256 GB of microSD card on the Vivo Y93s.
The Vivo Y93s promises long-lasting performance through its 4,030mAh battery. However, there is no support for fast charging on the device. The Android 8.1 Oreo OS customized with FunTouch OS 4.5 UI is preloaded on the smartphone. Vivo has also included its gaming mode feature on the device.
The rear side of the Vivo Y93s features a vertical camera module. It includes a primary sensor of 13-megapixel with f/2.2 aperture and a secondary sensor of 2-megapixel with f/2.4 aperture. For capturing selfies, the handset is equipped with a frontal shooter of 8-megapixel with f/1.8 aperture. The Vivo Y93s lacks a fingerprint reader. The front camera enabled with face recognition feature can be used for unlocking the device.
The Vivo Y93s has landed with a price tag of 1,698 Yuan (~NRs.28,000) in China. The Vivo Y93 is a cheaper device that is now selling with a price tag of 1,499 (~NRs.24,750).
Currently, Vivo is selling only the Aurora Red and Zixia Red gradient color variants through its online store. In the near future, it will be also selling its Starry Night Black and Aurora Blue gradient color models. There is no word on the international availability of the Vivo Y93s.
