Motorola Razr debuts: 6.2 inch flexible Flex View screen, eSIM support and $ 1,500

Motorola-Razr 2019

So it happened. The new generation Motorola Razr smartphone is officially presented, rumors of which have been circulating on the World Wide Web throughout the year.

The new Motorola Razr (2019) looks similar to the original Motorola Razr, including the curved bottom chin, however design-wise everything has been revamped. The company has also made the design splash proof.

The company managed to maintain the same corporate identity, seasoning it with innovation: a foldable 6.2 ” pOLED display with a 21: 9 ratio, which the manufacturer refers to as Flex View. It’s resolution is 2142 x 876 pixels, there is also a notch for housing a 5-megapixel front selfie camera.

When folded, the user will have access to a small 2.7 inch Quick View screen with a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels. This secondary external display will display the information necessary (date, time, battery status, notification icons) and also allow you to take a selfie, switch the song without the need to open up the smartphone. Other notable features like Google Pay will also be available through this secondary display.

The new Moto Razr has a fairly thick chin at the bottom and this is where the fingerprint scanner and USB Type-C ports are located.

The smartphone is equipped with a 16-megapixel main camera with a dual LED flash, electronic image stabilization system and laser autofocus.

The “heart” of the device is the Snapdragon 710 processor. It combines eight 64-bit Kryo 360 cores with a clock frequency of up to 2.2 GHz and an Adreno 616 graphics accelerator. There is also an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Engine.

The device carries on board 6 GB of RAM LPPDDR4x, a flash drive with a capacity of 128 GB, wireless adapters Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4 / 5 GHz) and Bluetooth 5, a GPS / GLONASS receiver and four microphones. The new Raze also has a NFC module for making contactless payments and USB 3.0 Type-C port.

The smartphone has dimensions of 72 × 172 × 6.9 mm when unfolded and 72 × 94 × 14 mm when folded. Weight is 205 g. A 2510 mAh battery with support for fast 15-watt TurboPower charging is responsible for the power.

The operating system is Android 9.0 (Pie). The device uses eSIM technology – a built-in SIM card (a slot for a physical SIM card is not provided).
