Vivo S5 officially launched with punch hole camera and quad setup camera

Vivo today introduced its latest mid-range smartphone, the Vivo S5. This smartphone had everything to be a threat to the offers of manufacturers like Xiaomi and Realme. Although it has much to offer, the price of approximately $385 seems to be too high.

However, Vivo S5 continues to display several details that make it unique and may be able to win over users heart. In terms of design, it has a peculiar diamond-shaped camera module on the rear with a total of 4 cameras. Whereas, on the front panel, it has a very tiny punch hole camera for selfies that is even smaller than the one on Galaxy Note 10 and has a diameter of only 3mm.

Considering the specifications presented by Vivo’s new smartphone, this smartphone will hit the market to compete with very popular devices such as the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE and the Realme 5 Pro.

The Vivo S5 features a 6.44-inch OLED technology display and Full HD+ resolution. The improved display offers the user a great level of brightness at 1,200 nits. The panel has also been certified with TUV Rhineland, which means it has greater comfort and safety for users who spend a lot of time using the device.

Regarding the hardware we have a Snapdragon 712 chipset, same processor as used in Mi 9 SE. The vivo S5 also offers very interesting hardware combinations with models available in single variant with 8 GB of RAM, and with options of 128 GB or 258 GB of internal storage.

In the photographic segment, the Vivo S5 offers quad cameras on the rear panel in a diamond shaped module with 48 MP main camera, an 8 MP camera with wide-angle lens, a macro lens with 2 MP sensor and a 5 MP sensor for depth of field data.

On the front for selfies the S5 has a 32 MP hole punch tiny camera of just about 3mm of diameter.

The smartphone battery is also a great attraction: offering 4,100 mAh capacity with support for fast charging technology of 22.5W, above average than expected for this type of smartphones in simpler category.

Vivo confirmed that the S5 pre-sale will start on November 15 in China, reaching stores on November 22. The device will be sold in two variants with three color options: black, dark blue and light blue.

The model price with 8 GB + 128 GB is 2,698 yuan (Rs 44,219) while the 8 GB + 256 GB model will be sold for 2,998 yuan (Rs 49,135).
