As a follow-up to its Redmi A1 series, Xiaomi has quietly released the Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ in Europe.
These smartphones, designed as budget options, are the first to include the MediaTek Helio G36 CPU and up to 3GB of RAM.
You can find the smartphones on Xiaomi’s international site. Unfortunately, announcements about the devices’ pricing and availability have not yet been made.
The handsets will be available in Black, White, and Gold. The main camera on the Redmi A2 is 8 megapixels in resolution, and the front-facing camera is 5 megapixels. The smartphones have a 5,000mAh battery.
Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ Specifications
Both the Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+, which were just released, ship with Android 12 (Go edition). They have a 20:9 aspect ratio and a 6.52-inch HD+ (1600 x 720 pixel) LCD screen with a dot drop notch for the front-facing camera.
MediaTek Helio G36 system-on-chips (SoCs) fuel the smartphones, together with up to 3GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 32GB of eMMC 5.1 storage.
The devices have an 8-megapixel primary sensor, a QVGA lens, and an LED light for photography. They have a 5 megapixel camera for taking group selfies.
Phones in the Redmi A2 series include 5,000mAh batteries that are compatible with 10W fast charging.
Dual-SIM, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 2.4GHz, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, Glonass, Galileo, a 3.5mm headphone connector, and a USB type-C charging connection are all supported.
They weigh 192 grams and have dimensions of 164.9 by 76.75 by 9.09mm.
The Redmi A2+ shares all the features of the Redmi A2, plus a fingerprint scanner for further security.

Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ Price and Availability
Both the Redmi A2 and the more advanced Redmi A2+ are new budget phones that have just been released.
There are three color options for the phones: black, green, and blue.
The company has not yet announced when or how much they would cost. Also information regarding whether a 2GB+32GB or a 3GB+32GB RAM and storage combinations will be announced has not been confirmed.
