Realme 9i

A placeholder ad for the Realme 9i has appeared on the Chinese e-commerce website AliExpress, giving away some details about the next smartphone from the firm. Recently, the Realme 9 series was detected on several certification websites, indicating that the company’s forthcoming smartphone will be available in China as early as January. A 50-megapixel primary camera and a 16-megapixel front-facing camera are listed on the smartphone’s website. According to the advertisement, the phone is expected to include a 5,000mAh battery and capability for fast charging at 33W.

MySmartPrice discovered the AliExpress listing for the Realme 9i. Despite the lack of an image, the listing indicates that the phone will have a primary camera of at least 50 megapixels and that it would be available soon. A previous study also hinted to this. The listing mentions a secondary camera, however it does not specify its resolution. Realme 9i is said to have a 16-megapixel selfie camera on the front.

The Realme 9i could have a 6.59-inch (2400×1080) full-HD+ LCD display and be available in two colors: Black and Blue, according to a placeholder listing on AliExpress for the device. The Realme 9i has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner instead of an in-display scanner. It’s expected to have a Snapdragon SoC, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage, according to rumors. For now, it’s unknown if Realme plans to release the phone with additional RAM and storage capacities.

The under-the-hood battery of the Realme 9i could be rated at 5,000mAh and support 33W adaptive fast charging. According to the listing, the smartphone will not have a 3.5mm headphone connection and instead will have a USB Type-C port. Recent concept renders of the Realme 9i suggest that the smartphone will operate on the company’s Realme UI 2, which is based on Android 11, and that the design will be similar to the company’s Realme GT Neo 2 smartphone.

The Realme 9i is expected to build upon the company’s Realme 8i smartphone, which was released in September. The latter has a MediaTek Helio G96 SoC, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. In addition, Realme hasn’t released any information about the Realme 9i or any of the other smartphones expected to be released in January 2022 as part of the Realme 9 series.
