Redmi 8A with Snapdragon 439 and 5000 mAh battery Launched
Xiaomi in May launched Redmi 7a and the successor of this model Redmi 8A has now been launched in Nepali market today. Redmi’s latest budget device Redmi 8A comes with a generous 5,000 mAh battery — an impressive upgrade over it’s predecessor which had 4,000 mAh.
The Redmi 8A is offered at best price to quality ratio and its base price starts at around NRs 10,000. At this price range Xiaomi is offering modest specification with bigger display and battery.
Redmi 8A features a 6.22-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 1,520 x 720 pixels at 19:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Under the hood, the phone has retained the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC that was powering the Redmi 7A, paired with up to 3GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage.
Redmi 8A will has a screen with drop-notch and thick bottom chin and will offer immersive viewing experience.
In the camera segment, the Redmi 8A offers dual camera setup on the rear and a drop notch on the front camera. It sports a 12-megapixel Sony IMX363 sensor at the back along with an f/1.8 lens and an LED flash.
While at the front, it has an 8-megapixel selfie camera . Further, there are preloaded features such as an AI Portrait Mode and AI Scene Detection. The phone also includes an AI Face Unlock feature.
The onboard storage of 32 GB can be further expanded via microSD card (up to 512GB) through a dedicated slot. Connectivity options on the phone include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Lastly, the Redmi 8A packs a 5,000mAh Li-Polymer battery with support for 18W fast charging. Xiaomi has confirmed that a 10W charger will be included in the box, and that an 18W charger will have to be purchased separately.
