The Chinese company Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Router AX6, which can be ordered for an estimated price of $ 60. The novelty is indicated for use in homes and offices in large areas.

The device is packed in a white box and equipped with six external antennas. The router belongs to Wi-Fi class 6: the IEEE 802.11ax standard is compatible. Of course, compatibility with previous generations of Wi-Fi networks is guaranteed.

The Redmi router is capable of operating in two frequency bands – 2.4 and 5 GHz. According to Xiaomi, it can provide a concurrent wireless rate of up to 2976Mbps.

It is based on a corporate-class Qualcomm processor, containing four ARM Cortex-A53 cores with a clock speed of up to 1.4 GHz and a dual-core NPU with a frequency of 1.7 GHz, which is responsible for accelerating hardware operations. The chip is manufactured using a 14-nanometer technology.

There are six antennas on the device, which are claimed to increase the coverage by 50 percent. This router is a successor to the Redmi Router AX5, the Redmi Router AX6 can reportedly provide stable connections for up to 248 devices simultaneously.

The router is implemented with OFDMA technology (multiple access by orthogonal frequency division). A Gigabit Ethernet network port is provided. The dimensions of the device are 320 × 320 × 55 mm, the weight is approximately 950 g.

Redmi Router AX6 with Wi-Fi 6 is priced at CNY 399 (roughly Rs. 6,899). It is now on sale in China and details about it’s global launch are unclear. The router is an upgraded version of the Redmi AX5 Wi-Fi 6 Router that was launched in June at a price tag of CNY 249(Rs 4300).

Mi Nepal has recently launched Mi Router 4C in Nepali market last month. Xiaomi Nepal has launched the Mi Router 4C in Nepali market at a price tag of Rs 2,399.
