Asus unveils Zenbook 17 FOLD OLED Laptop with unrivalled portability

Is it possible that the first foldable PCs will be available in 2022? I would say so if ASUS has something to say about it. The ZenBook 17 Fold OLED was unveiled at CES 2022 as the company’s first foldable laptop. And based on early impressions, it looks like it’s going to be a significant game-changer.
Even though the official unveiling of the ZenBook 17 Fold OLED isn’t expected until Computex this summer in Taiwan, ASUS is kicking off the year with a sneak peek. Although we don’t know everything about it yet, there are a few tidbits to get excited about.
When it’s fully opened, the gadget has a 4:3 aspect ratio and a gigantic 17.3-inch display to work with. A 17.3-inch iPad Pro is a good approximation of what this will look like. A foldable, of course, does not have to be just a big tablet; you have options.

With a 3:2 aspect ratio of 12.5-inches when folded, you have a full wireless keyboard to work with the display in any orientation. You have the option of using an on-screen keyboard instead; the choice is yours. A full-sized keyboard is included with the ZenBook 17 Fold OLED, and it has a kickstand integrated into the leather portion of the gadget, so you won’t have to search for something to hold it against while using it.
Considering it’s a foldable, Intel’s genuine Ultrabook processor, 65W USB-C charging, quad speakers, and Windows Hello support through a dedicated IR camera are all impressive features to have on board. Windows Hello, Harman/Kardon audio, and an OLED display are standard features on all ZenBooks in 2022, and the ZenBook 17 Fold OLED is no exception. In this case, a color sensor detects the surrounding light and adjusts the screen’s color temperature accordingly for a more pleasant viewing experience. Similar to the iPad’s True Tone feature.
It’s a shame that we won’t be able to experience the full potential of this device for another six months, but ASUS has already set a high bar for the foldable market in 2022.
