Asus Zenfone 7 Pro launched with Snapdragon 865+ and triple camera flipping module
Asus unveiled the new Zenfone 7 series of smartphones todaty which consists of standard Zenfone 7 phone along with a more premium Zenfone 7 Pro.
The highlights of these device include the flipping camera module which double as a rear and front camera, a 90 Hz refresh rate display, support for 5G network and a 30 Watt fast charging.
The standard model Zenfone 7 differs from the premium model in terms of processor and memory options available.
The Zenfone 7 Pro comes powered by a Snapdragon 865+ while the standard Zenfone 7 comes with Snapdragon 865. Except these, all features remain the same in both models.
Asus Zenfone 7 Pro Features and Specification
The Zenfone 7 series phones features a rounded design and is built using a 6000 series aluminum body and glass at the rear and front – Gorilla Glass 3 and 6, respectively.
The Zenfone 7 Pro features a 6.67-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) AMOLED display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and 90Hz refresh rate protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6.
With a 20: 9 aspect ratio, the screen does not have any notches or holes and has a refresh rate of 90 Hz and technologies such as HDR 10+, Delta E <1 and support 110% of the DCI-P3 range, with maximum brightness of 700 nits and 1ms response time. The refresh rate can also be switched to a lower 60 Hz in order to extend battery life.
It is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ SoC, paired with Adreno 650 GPU and 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM.
The flip camera is back in these new models, however, even better. The company added a telephoto lens and improved the mechanism to reinforce resistance – the company now guarantees up to 5 years of operation even using the flip up to 100 times a day.
Thanks to the improvements, the flip camera when open is able to withstand up to 35 kg of pressure, which should make accidental breaks a little difficult.
The main sensor has 64 MP resolution (Sony IMX 686) with 2×1 OCL auto-focus. It is capable of recording videos with 8K resolution at 30 fps and slow motion in 4K at 120 fps. Enhanced algorithms ensure better video quality at night and we also have HDR video.
The 12 MP wide-angle, in turn, ships with a Sony IMX363 sensor that features Dual Pixel auto-focus – something difficult to see in such lenses. This module allows 4K video captures and can also be used for macro captures, with a focal length of 4 cm.
Asus has provided 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage on the ZenFone 7 Pro that is expandable via microSD card (up to 2TB).
Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.1, GPS/ A-GPS/ NavIC, NFC, and a USB Type-C port.
The phone also has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor as well as other sensors in line with the ZenFone 7.
Similarly, there is a 5,000mAh battery with 30W fast charging support. The phone weighs 230 grams that is identical to the ZenFone 7.
