Since the introduction of MIUI 12.5, over a year has passed, and Xiaomi has reached the end of MIUI 13 development.
The MIUI 13 stable tests for the 7 flagship device began just a few days ago. Those versions have been updated with at least two new versions by Xiaomi on top of them.
Xiaomi has begun working on MIUI 13 as a closed internal beta, which means that the company will not release MIUI 13 in beta and then stable, as it has in the past.
Instead, they will provide us with the stable version first, followed by the beta version.
Versions of MIUI 13 that are eligible, as well as their release stages
MIUI 13 will be available on devices running Android 11 and higher. In addition, all devices that will receive the Android 12 update will be able to run the MIUI 13 operating system.
According to unofficial leaks, a total of 118 Xiaomi devices meet these requirements.
The tests for seven of them began one week ago and are still in progress. Devices running Android 12 will receive MIUI 13 first, followed by devices running Android 11.
The update will be rolled out to Android 12 devices in stages, starting with flagship devices and progressing to devices powered by flagship processors and devices with flagship quality.
Later on, it is expected that popular midrange devices, followed by devices running Android 11, will be updated.
Eligibility for MIUI 13 Features
As we saw in MIUI 12, MIUI 12.5 and earlier versions, all features were not available on Android versions lower than the target Android version. This was also true in MIUI 11.
The Android version that will be used for MIUI 12 is Android 10, the Android version that will be used for MIUI 12.5 is Android 11, and the Android version that will be used for MIUI 13 is Android 12.
