On Tuesday, ZTE unveiled the Nubia Z50 Ultra. In December, ZTE introduced the Z50, one of its first smartphones under the brand name.

The Nubia Z50 Ultra is driven by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. Unique features of the recently released smartphone’s hardware include an AMOLED screen with ultra-narrow bezels and an under-display camera (UDC) for use in taking selfies and making video calls.

It also has a 64 megapixel triple camera arrangement on the back. It has a 5,000 mAh battery and supports 80W rapid charging.

Nubia Z50 Ultra Specifications & features

Nubia’s newest smartphone, the Z50 Ultra version, sports a 6.8-inch OLED display with no notch or punch hole, providing users with a near bezel-less viewing experience. The screen can display images at a Full HD+ (1,116 x 2,480 pixel) resolution at a refresh rate of 120 frames per second and a touch sampling rate of 960 frames per second.

It also uses pulse width modulation (PWM) dimming at a frequency of 1440 cycles per second. It has a peak brightness of 1500 nits, color depth support of 10 bits, and coverage of the DCI-P3 color space in its whole.

With a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, up to 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM, and up to 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage, the Nubia Z50 Ultra is a powerful smartphone based on Android 13.

It has a 64-megapixel Sony IMX787 primary camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 64-megapixel periscope zoom camera with OIS, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera that can also take macro shots for its optics. The back cameras are aided with a ring LED light and many spectral channels.

The dual-SIM Z50 Ultra’s 16-megapixel under-display camera (UDC) has a 2.24m extremely big pixel size from OmniVision. The manufacturer claims that the Z50 Ultra’s enhanced light transmittance by 30% results in better selfie photographs than its predecessor.

Thanks in large part to the AI super-sensing engine and image super-transparency advancement technology, the screen’s transparency has been increased by a factor of 50%.

With its 5,000 mAh battery and 80W rapid charging, this phone is a powerhouse. A 4212 sq. mm big vapour chamber liquid cooling unit and Wi-Fi 802.11ax, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, an IR blaster, and a USB Type-C connection are also included.

Nubia Z50 Ultra Pricing and Availability

The base model of the Nubia Z50 Ultra is available in either Black or Grey.

The base model, 8 GB + 256 GB, costs CNY 3,999 (approximately USD 575), while the 12 GB + 256 GB and 12 GB + 512 GB models cost CNY 4,299 (about USD 618) and CNY 4,699 (roughly USD 675), respectively.

Nubia Z50 Ultra premium model with 16 GB RAM and 1 TB storage costs CNY 5,999. (roughly USD 862).

The Nubia Z50 Ultra Starry Night Collector’s Edition has a price tag of CNY 4,999 (about USD 719), and it features 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage space. The blue limited-edition phone was designed to evoke the mood of Vincent van Gogh’s iconic Starry Night painting.

China is the first market to receive pre-orders for the Z50 Ultra, and sales will go off on March 14.
