The Xiaomi 12S series was unveiled at a press conference yesterday. A new laptop series, the Xiaomi Book Pro 2022, was also introduced by the company alongside the latest smartphones. Two sizes are available for the new notebook: a 14-inch model and a 16-inch model.
Xiaomi Book Pro 14
A first for Xiaomi, the Xiaomi Book Pro 14 2022 features an E4 OLED display with a proprietary 3D LUT color correction technology.
Using a 16:10 aspect ratio, the display features a resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels and a 90 percent screen-to-body ratio. The maximum brightness of the display is 600 nits, and it supports the full DCI-P3 and sRGB color gamuts.
High-end CNC integrated carving processes are used to build the laptop’s aluminum alloy body. It is incredibly light, weighing only 1.5kg and measuring just 14.9mm thick.
An improved 12th-generation Intel Core P platform, with an optional Core i5-1240P, innovative heterogeneous architecture, 12 cores and 16 threads, turbo frequency up to 4.4GHz, and performance release up to 35W, powers the notebook.
It has also completed the rigorous Intel Evo certification process. 16GB of LPDDR5-5200 memory, 512GB PCIe 4.0 hard drive, 100W Gallium Nitride charger, 56Wh battery, and two full-featured USB3.2 Gen2 ports complete the other components. Also included is a Thunderbolt 4 port, a 3.5mm audio jack, and PD charging.
Xiaomi Book Pro 14 2022 also supports Dolby Vision certification, VESA Display HDR 500 certification, TÜV Rheinland hardware low blue light certification and Eye Care Display dual eye protection certification, and the Light Sensor smart light-sensing function can adjust the brightness of the screen and key board automatically.
Because it is Xiaomi’s first touch-screen laptop, the Book Pro 14 2022 is equipped with the company’s own pressure-sensitive touchpad, which supports 10-point high-definition touch and Win11 gesture operations as standard.
In terms of responsiveness and realism, the broadband X-axis linear motor is preferable because of its increased sensitivity. It’s said to be on par with the MacBook Pro series in terms of performance and usability.
Xiaomi Book Pro 14 2022 is equipped with 8+6mm dual heat pipes, a C-side keyboard and a D-side grille that have been carefully treated to boost performance in terms of heat dissipation despite its thin and light design. Hence, it’s super efficient in cooling the device.
On the software side, the Xiaomi Book Pro 14 2022 includes Windows 11 Professional pre-installed along with MIUI+, XiaoAI, and Xiaomi Computer Assistant.
Xiaomi Book Pro 16
A larger 16-inch screen is clearly seen in the Xiaomi Book Pro 16 2022, which will be released in 2022. The design is nearly identical to that of the Xiaomi Book Pro 14 and is made with the same materials and processes. It is also 14.9mm thick.
16GB LPDDR5-5200 RAM and 512 GB PCIe 4.0 HDD are likewise included in Xiaomi Book Pro 16, however the battery capacity has been increased to 70Wh, making it possible that the 16-inch version will have a longer battery life.

5899 yuan ($881) is the starting price for the Xiaomi Book Pro 14 2022 Intel Core i5 variant.
It costs 7399 yuan (about $1,105) to buy the Xiaomi Book Pro 16 2022 Intel Core i5 model.
Xiaomi Mall, Xiaomi Youpin, Xiaomi Home, JD.com, Tmall, and Pinduoduo will begin selling the models on July 8th in China.
