The Pocophone F1 is considered as a segment creator which comes with Snapdragon 845 and costs less than $350 at the time of launch.
The main feature of the Pocophone F1 is the Qualcomm’s top-end processor — the Snapdragon 845. Yes, the same one that is inside most of the top 2018 flagships. It is quite unexpected to see such a chip in conjunction with 6 GB (there is also a version with 8 GB) of RAM in a smartphone, which costs only three hundred bucks. But it is extremely good at gaming.
After prolonged loads, the device case becomes only slightly warm – thanks to the built-in liquid cooling system.
In Pocophone F1, the most common IPS-screen with a resolution slightly higher than Full HD: 2246×1080 pixels . It is definitely not worth expecting anything special because you get what you pay for.
This is just a good-quality 6.1-inch TFT panel with normal color reproduction, wide viewing angles and relatively high brightness. There is no hint of grain – after all, the pixel density exceeds 400 dpi .
But the nuances are still there, even if they are not directly related to the quality of the picture. The device comes with a big chunk of notch on the top for housing the front selfie camera which aesthetically is not so attractive in 2019.
The Pocophone F1 has a selfie camera of 20 MP and a dual main camera with a resolution of 12 + 5 megapixels . The second module is needed solely for more precise separation of the foreground from the background, so that the algorithms then blur the background, otherwise known as bokeh effect. There is an absense of Optical stabilization which is again a premium feature not to ask for when you are getting a SD 845 at such a cheap price range.
A battery of capacity 4000 mAh looks good on paper and also comes with Quick Charge 3.0 for fast charging. The device boots on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box with MIUI for POCO user interface on top.
Performance wise the Pocophone F1 is still a best performing device for the price you pay for if the device external appearance don’t count much.
But paying for exact same price may not be a good idea in the midst of 2019.
