Lalchan Group’s Hotel Lalchan Pvt Ltd is currently spearheading the construction of a luxurious ‘DoubleTree by Hilton’ hotel in Maharajganj, Kathmandu, with an impressive investment totaling 3.9 billion rupees. This ambitious project marks a significant addition to the hospitality landscape in the region, promising world-class amenities and services.
The planned hotel, spanning an area of 152,481 square feet, is set to offer a total of 135 rooms, including 9 suite rooms, 9 junior rooms, and 117 standard rooms. With a focus on providing a premium experience to its guests, the hotel will also feature top-notch facilities such as food and beverage services, a swimming pool, conference and banquet facilities, as well as spa services.
To finance the construction, Hotel Lalchan Pvt Ltd has secured a long-term loan of 2.034 billion rupees, maintaining a strategic 75:25 investment ratio. The company is leveraging an investment of 2.257 billion rupees through loans from banks and financial institutions, while allocating 752 million rupees from its equity. Notably, 320 million rupees have already been invested in the project.
The timeline for completion and operational stability is well-planned, with construction expected to wrap up within four years from the initiation of the contract in 2020. Following this, an additional two to three years will be dedicated to stabilizing business operations, with the hotel projected to commence operations by July 2025.
Chairman Sombahardur Lalchan, a seasoned entrepreneur with a diverse portfolio including investments in Viva Agro Pvt Ltd and Beverly Hill Pvt Ltd, leads Lalchan Group. The company, founded in 2018, ventured into the hospitality sector through a franchise agreement with Hilton Worldwide Manage Limited in 2020, showcasing its commitment to delivering world-class hospitality experiences.
