Huawei today officially unveiled its most affordable 5G-enabled smartphone, the Enjoy Z 5G.
It also became the first model of the company to use the MediaTek Dimensity 800 chipset. So far it is the first attempt from the company to opt for chipset from another company rather than choosing it’s own proprietary HiSilicon Kirin brand of chipsets. In the near future, Huawei is expected to launch more smartphones equipped with MediaTek chipsets for it’s mid-range and flagship lineups.
Despite the fact that the smartphone comes with 5G support, it rather turned out to be inexpensive.
The Enjoy Z 5G carries a slogan “let the young enjoy new technologies” which clearly shows that the company is targetting this device for the youths or Gen Z.
In terms of specification , the Huawei Enjoy Z 5G comes with 6.5-inch display which has a 2400×1080 pixel resolution with a 90Hz frequency and a 180Hz touchscreen sampling rate, a a 7 nanometer Dimensity 800 chipset, a 4,000 mAh battery and a front-facing 16-megapixel camera.
The device comes with a triple setup camera with a main sensor of 48 MP (f/1.8) , 8 MP (wide-angle, f/2.4) 2 MP (macro shooting, f/2.4) and there is a fast 22.5-watt charge. Huawei says there is Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS) for smoother videos. The phone also has 10x digital zoom, night scene mode, macro mode, and a beauty mode.
There is a 4000mAh battery inside the phone with support for 22.5W fast charge.
Other features of the phone are Bluetooth 5.1, Dual-SIM support, Dual-Band Wi-Fi, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and OTG support.
The smartphone weighs 182 grams and the size of the case is at 160×75.32×8.3 mm.
Huawei Enjoy Z 5G is powered by the EMUI 10.1 user interface based on Android 10, but lacks Google services as usual.
The speciality of the Huawei Enjoy 5G design lies in the special location of the antennas – they are not overlapped by the user’s hand either while in upright or horizontal position. This ensures the stability of the 5G connection.
The Huawei Enjoy Z 5G is available in Dark Blue, Sakura Snow Clear Sky, and Magic Night Black.
