The much awaited KTM 390 adventure bike has been unveiled by H&H Company Nepal. The company has informed that bookings have been started for KTM 390 Adventure at KTM showrooms across Nepal. The company has stated that the sale of the bike has started from Monday.
The new KTM 390 ADVENTURE has harnessed the attributes and DNA from the popular and highly rated KTM 790 ADVENTURE as well as the development information gleaned from nearly two decades of Dakar Rally success.
One of the highlights on the 390 Adventure is the electronics package which includes lean-angle sensitive Motorcycle Traction Control (MTC), Bosch cornering and off-road ABS, and up/down Quickshifter+. It gets a full-colour TFT display.
A breezy, agile, and ideal entry model for riders keen to discover the ‘adventure’ sensation, this motorcycle offers added versatility for touring and light offroading.
Using elements of the KTM 390 DUKE as a base, the KTM 390 ADVENTURE offers proximity to the feeling and performance found at the root of the all-conquering KTM 450 RALLY but with crucial A2 license compatibility and current Euro emissions standards as part of the package.
KTM 390 Adventure shares its engine with the 390 Duke and hence is powered by a 373cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that makes 43 hp and 37 Nm of torque. The engine is mounted on a lightweight steel trellis frame and the suspension setup includes 43mm USD forks up front with 170mm travel and over at the rear, it gets gas-assisted monoshock with 177mm travel and preload adjustment.
It comes with all-LED lighting and a 14.5-litre fuel tank. The 390 Adventure, of course, comes with dual-channel ABS but also features KTM’s Supermoto mode which switches the ABS off on the rear wheel to makes brake slides easier.
The motorcycle is purpose-built for adventure travel and features a lightweight trellis frame chassis, a long-travel suspension by WP. It runs on 170 mm front wheel and 177 mm rear wheel, wrapped with knobby tyres by Metzeller. The motorcycle comes with 200 mm of ground clearance. Also, it gets long wheelbase, extendable windshield and a protective bash plate for the engine, as claimed by the company. The motorcycle features TFT digital display, LED headlamp, and taillights.
Added features
The Electronic Control Unit (ECU) controls a host of electronic aids like the lean-angle sensitive Motorcycle Traction Control (MTC). This feature allows for better traction on dirt and loose gravel surfaces, cornering ABS which provides for a safer and sharper ride through the twisties, off-road ABS for better steering on low traction surfaces, Quickshifter+ for smooth clutchless up and downshifting. KTM my ride smartphone connectivity for calls, music and an optional turn-by-turn navigation is relayed by the full-color TFT display. These aids work seamlessly to ensure a feeling of optimal control and come into play in the trickiest of situations.
