New M4 MacBook Pros Coming In Late 2024

Get ready for a speed boost! Apple’s next-gen MacBook Pro laptops featuring the M4 chip are expected to launch by the end of this year (Q4 2024). This news comes from display analyst Ross Young.

These M4 MacBook Pros follow the May 2024 release of the M4 iPad Pro. Mark Gurman, a Bloomberg analyst, also predicts a 2024 launch for the M4 Macs. Apple plans to update both the MacBook Pro and Mac mini lines.

The M4 Chip Lineup: A Leap in Performance

While Apple kickstarted the M4 chip refresh with the M4 iPad Pro in May, the first Macs to feature these cutting-edge processors are slated for a 2024 debut. Renowned Apple analyst Mark Gurman reports that both the MacBook Pro and Mac mini lineups will receive a comprehensive refresh this year.

The entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro is expected to be powered by the M4 chip, while the higher-end 14-inch and 16-inch models will boast the more potent M4 Pro and M4 Max chips. Similarly, the Mac mini will be available with M4 and M4 Pro chip options.

Pushing the Boundaries of Performance
Built on an advanced 3-nanometer node, the M4 chip promises a significant performance boost over its predecessor, the M3. Early Geekbench 6 benchmarks indicate that the M4 chip could deliver up to 25 percent faster multi-core performance compared to the M3, hinting at similar gains for the M4 Pro and M4 Max variants.

Evolutionary Design, Revolutionary Performance

While the upcoming MacBook Pro models are not expected to feature major design overhauls, their performance capabilities are set to soar with the integration of the M4 chip series. Apple is actively working on OLED display technology, but an OLED MacBook Pro is not anticipated until 2026 at the earliest.

As the year progresses, Apple enthusiasts and professionals alike can look forward to the unveiling of these powerhouse MacBook Pro models, ushering in a new era of unparalleled performance and productivity.
