Redmi Note 9 Pro is the 1st smartphone with MIUI to be recommended by Google

Redmi Note 9 Pro

About 2 years ago, Google launched a program with the objective of providing companies with smartphones recommended for the most varied needs. With Android Enterprise Recommended, Google helps companies determine the best smartphones for their needs, having certified more than 150 smartphones over the past two years.

Now, it is with great surprise that we see the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro being added to this program , being the first smartphone with MIUI to be certified by Google.

This is not the first smartphone of the brand to be certified, but until now only smartphones with Android One had achieved this feat (Xiaomi Mi A2, Mi A2 Lite and Mi A3).

Some of the requirements for smartphones to be certified by Google

In order for a smartphone to be included in this program, it needs to comply with some requirements, including the receipt of security updates within 90 days after being launched by Google (for 3 years) and be available for free sale from any operator .

According to information advanced by XDA Developers, Google is planning to reduce the criteria with regard to security updates. Therefore, it is expected that more and more smartphones will be able to integrate this program.

Recently, OnePlus also saw its first smartphones certified by Google, with the inclusion of OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro and OnePlus Nord.
