Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 Pro: The tablet with keyboard and stylus that wants to compete with the iPad Pro
Xiaomi has presented this Tuesday, along with the Mi Mix 4, its latest bet on the tablet market. This is the Mi Pad 5, a device that arrives in different versions and and clearly shows the Chinese company’s motto to compete head-to-head with Apple’s iPad Pro by incorporating a high-end processor, a keyboard in the style of the Magic Keyboard and a stylus similar to the Apple Pencil.
As Xiaomi explained in its live event from China, the two versions of the Mi Pad 5 will have in common a 10.9-inch IPS LCD screen of 2K resolution (2,560 x 1,600 pixels) with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a touch sample rate of 240Hz. The display panel also arrives with technologies like HDR10, TrueTone and Dolby Vision. The differences between models are in processing capabilities and connectivity.
Precisely, the Mi Pad 5 base variant will feature a Snapdragon 860 SoC, which sits halfway between the low-end and the high-end chipset currently available, but does not offer 5G connectivity. The most advanced model, the Mi Pad 5 Pro (in 5G versions and Wi-Fi only) bets on the high performance with the Snapdragon 870 chipset, which is the best option for performance boosts and is geared-up towards gaming.
