Google Pixel 3a XL and Pixel 3a launched

A series of various leaks came to an end today, at a press conference on Google I/0 2019 in San Francisco , the company officially introduced the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL smartphones.

The newly launched devices will be available for purchase in the US today with several local telecom operators at once – T-Mobile, Sprint, US Cellular and Verizon. Official prices are as follows: Pixel 3a – from $ 400 or 400 pounds, Pixel 3a – from $ 480 or 470 pounds.

The Pixel 3a XL and Pixel 3a smartphones are sold at almost half the price of current flagships phones from Google – the Pixel 3 series.

The new Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a is also launched in India and other various markets at the same time. Not all variants will be available at certain global markets.

Google’s attempt to discover the mid-range market gave birth to a more affordable Pixel lineups in the form of Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL phones.

Google’s hallmark of Pixel phones offers great camera performance and this feature is what makes the cheaper Pixel 3a smartphones special.

Pixel 3a and the Pixel 3a XL specs

The Pixel 3a and the Pixel 3a XL are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 processor. The Pixel 3a XL is, as the name suggests, is the bigger phone with a 6-inch screen, whereas the Pixel 3a uses a 5.6-inch display. Unlike the more expensive Pixel 3 phones, the new Pixel 3a phones use plastic body and the Dragon Trail glass layer on the screen.

Both the Pixel 3a and the Pixel 3a XL are single SIM phone but support dual-SIM functionality through an eSIM similar to how the iPhone XS and Pixel 3 phones.

As it has become a norm for the Pixel phones, the camera performance of the Pixel 3a is one of the highlights of these phones. For the main camera of the Pixel 3a Sony made IMX363 12-megapixel image sensor, which is the same one that is inside the Pixel 3 phones. On the front, unlike the more expensive phones, there is only one 8-megapixel camera.

Google says that the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL users will get access to free unlimited storage in Google Drive for photos clicked with these phones. The Pixel 3a and the Pixel 3a XL users in India will also get a free 3-month subscription to Google YouTube Premium service.

Google also promises that the Pixel 3a and the Pixel 3a XL will get three years of guaranteed security and OS updates. At the launch, the Google Pixel 3a and the Pixel 3a XL are using Android 9 Pie software but later this year they will get the Android Q update when the next version of Android arrives.

The Pixel 3a and the Pixel 3a XL have 3.5mm headphone jack unlike that more expensive Pixels. The Pixel 3a has a 3000mAh battery inside it while the Pixel 3a XL uses a 3700 mAh battery.

Pixel 3a and the Pixel 3a XL Price in India

The India prices of the Pixel 3a and the Pixel 3a XL start from Rs 39,999.This price is for the Pixel 3a with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.

The Pixel 3a XL with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage costs Rs 44,999. Google has also announced the 128GB variant of the Pixel 3a XL and the Pixel 3a but those have not been put up for sale in India for now. In India, the Pixel 3a and the Pixel 3A XL will be available in Black and White colour variants.
