Apple Fitness+ is a new virtual fitness service that works with Apple Watch

Apple Fitness+

Service subscription will cost $ 9.99 a month or $ 79.99 a year in the United States

Apple announced a new subscription service geared for fitness enthusiasts called Apple Fitness+ . The service works with Apple Watch and plays fitness exercise videos on an iPhone, iPad or Apple TV. User metrics are placed over the video, supported by music, and exercises and progress are tracked within the Fitness app.

The Apple Fitness+ service supports activities like biking, treadmill, dancing, yoga and many others. Each workout will have a specific type of music that adapts to your intensity, and professional coaches will be available to lead the activity. For beginners, and people who don’t train often, an Absolute Beginner program will also be available to help.

Unlike training videos that can be easily found online, the training experience offered by Fitness+ is much smarter. It will be personalized for each individual and match training according to the users needs. Exercises can be filtered by type, trainer, duration or even music.

During each workout, the Apple Watch metrics will be synchronized with the iPhone, iPad or Apple TV screen in real time, and will become prominent when the trainer asks the user to check their heart rate or start a countdown. A “Burn Bar” will also be available to help users compete with others and see who has performed best in a specific workout.

After launch, Apple Fitness + will be available in the Fitness app on the iPhone. It will also be available on the iPad and Apple TV soon. Users will be able to track their progress with Apple Watch activity rings and use activity sharing to compete with each other. Apple Music subscribers will also be able to integrate their playlists into their workouts or save music from any workout to an Apple Music playlist.

Apple Fitness + will require an Apple Watch Series 3 or later. No other specialized equipment is needed. However, if you have an Apple Gymkit-compatible exercise machine, it can be used to connect to the Apple Watch to sync activity.

Apple Fitness+ will be available later this year in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States. In the United States, subscription to the service will cost $ 9.99 a month or $ 79.99 a year and can be shared with 5 family members.

Anyone who buys a new Apple Watch Series 3 or later from September 15 onwards will receive a 3-month subscription to Fitness +. All users can enjoy a 1-month trial before making a purchase on the Fitness app.

Fitness + will also be available as part of the Premier plan on the Apple One platform .
